Guest Guide
Wildlife & stargazing: Use the provided binoculars to spot the ever-changing birdlife including boisterous black cockatoos, swooping swallows, and tiny finches, some of our favourite feathered visitors! Or try spotting the sea life, as we regularly have pods of dolphins and seals in the bay. In the evening, relax in the hammock and gaze at the epic southern sky. On clear nights, you might even catch a faint glimpse of the Southern Lights from the balcony during the wee hours of the morning.
Rosny Reserve loop: Take the nearby track to Rosny Reserve for a rewarding walk with sweeping views of the city, Tasman Bridge, and Derwent River. To access the loop, turn right at street level and follow the path and signs. During special events like New Year's Eve, the reserve is a prime vantage point for fireworks.
Coffee & a stroll: Wander along the boardwalk to Bellerive and grab a coffee or brunch from Gastown East, Abundance on the Quay or Marla Singer. Stroll past the yachts and imagine the seafaring tales of their custodians.
Toes in the sand: Continue along the waterfront boardwalk to Bellerive Beach Park and Ninja Arena. If you’re feeling adventurous, the usually sheltered Bellerive Beach is perfect for a quick, refreshing dip in the ocean. No better way to start your day!
Local markets: On most Saturdays, visit the buzzing Tasmanian Produce Market at Kangaroo Bay Park (9am–1pm, weather permitting). Enjoy fresh produce, sweet treats, coffee, and amazing sourdough bread! Occasionally, the Re-loved Market takes over the Bellerive boardwalk, featuring live music and hidden treasures. Check their website for details.
Hobart, Salamanca & MONA: Catch the ferry from Bellerive to Salamanca for just $1.70 one way—you can pay easily with your phone or card. Spend the day exploring the vibrant city or continue your journey to MONA via a connecting ferry. For a smooth experience, be sure to book your MONA ferry and museum tickets in advance.
Mt Wellington/kunanyi: If you have a hire car, take the winding scenic drive up Mt Wellington/kunanyi for spectacular views. Alternatively, the Explorer Bus offers a stress-free ride to the summit. Remember, during snowfall, Pinnacle Road may be closed to vehicles. Always dress warmly—it’s 4–5°C cooler at the top, and the winds can be brisk and strong!
Eat yourself silly: Hobart is bursting with amazing cafes, restaurants and pubs showcasing all kinds of cuisines. Hobartians get up late, so for brunch we love Born in Brunswick, Erda or Trophy Room. For dinner, it's hard to narrow the list down to just a few, but some top mentions include Bar Wa Izakaya, a welcoming, casual bar specialising in Japanese dishes and drinks; Ogee (little sister to the well known Sonny), is an intimate corner shop in North Hobart offering simple, honest food and wines with a great vibe, and Maria, a premium Mediterranean-inspired dining experience. Book ahead to avoid disappointment.
Stop for a post adventure tipple in the sun: Whether you're looking for a relaxing drink or a lively atmosphere, these spots are vibey in all the right ways: The Den, known for its fluted fireplace, delicious bar snacks and epic cocktails; In The Hanging Garden, a vibrant outdoor venue offering a range of food and drinks with live music and cultural events, and Preachers , a relaxed pub with a beer garden (including backyard bus) and a wide range of craft beers.
Richmond & New Norfolk: Explore these historic towns only 30 minutes from Hobart which boast charming shops, markets, and wineries. In Richmond, we love Frogmore Creek for rainy days, while Pooley Wines shines in sunny weather. In New Norfolk, don’t miss Miss Arthur— our favourite shop filled with unique treasures, browse the local market on weekends, book a tour and the restaurant at Agrarian Kitchen or pop into Welcome Swallow Brewery for a beverage.
Huon Valley & Bruny Island: Take a scenic drive south to the stunning Huon Valley. For a memorable lunch, visit Willie Smith's Apple Shed, a rustic cider house offering epic food, local ciders, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Alternatively, the Longley Hotel provides a classic country pub experience with hearty meals and a local vibe. Both venues often host live music, so check their websites for upcoming events and tickets.
Or, if you have half a day or more, head to Kettering and catch the barge to Bruny Island – a quick 20-minute ferry ride. Arrive early to explore the island's breathtaking sights without crowds, such as The Neck Lookout, Adventure Bay, and Cape Bruny Lighthouse. Around lunchtime, wind your way back towards the ferry and enjoy a sneaky schooner at the iconic Hotel Bruny pub. Then, indulge in fresh Get Shucked oysters or a decadent Bruny Island Beer and Cheese tasting platter to savour the island's local flavours. On the way home, book a twilight session at the Kuuma Sauna Boat for a restorative afternoon.
Tasman Peninsula: An hour and bit drive from Hobart, you can start adventure early with the scenic drive to Eaglehawk Neck. We highly recommend a pitstop at Cubed Espresso, where you can enjoy a warm drink and sweet treat while taking in the breathtaking coastal views. Next, head to the historic Port Arthur site, and immerse yourself in the rich history and explore the well-preserved ruins of this former convict settlement.
Make sure you leave some time to discover the natural beauty of the rest of the Tasman Peninsula, with its dramatic cliffs, unique rock formations, and abundant wildlife. Don't miss the Tasman Arch, Devil's Kitchen, and the Blowhole for some spectacular photo opportunities.
Once you are ready to return to home, make a stop at Bangor Vineyard Shed. Enjoy a wine tasting or a meal overlooking the picturesque winery and surrounding landscapes.
Street parking is available at the property entrance, with no restrictions. However, we kindly ask that you remain mindful of our neighbours and ensure their driveway access is not obstructed.
Check in is from 3pm. Please see the welcome message in Airbnb for details on how to check in seamlessly. As the check in process is contactless, late check in is not an issue. Often, early check in not possible due to back to back bookings and the time required to reset the space and make it perfect for the next guest.
Please note each level has unique keys and codes.
Dear Guests,
We’re so thrilled to welcome you to Del Sol Treehouse. To help keep this space peaceful and enjoyable for all who stay, we kindly ask you to note the following house rules:
A quiet retreat
Del Sol is a place of stillness and serenity. To maintain this, we ask guests to keep noise to a minimum between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Be mindful of heavy footsteps and movement during these times, so all can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere that makes this place special. We also have a wonderful relationship with our neighbours, and we’d love to keep it that way.
Adults only
Due to the open stairs, high balconies, garden pathways and unfenced boundary, Del Sol is best suited to adult guests, and pets are not allowed. If you’re travelling with children, please reach out before booking to confirm that Del Sol is the right fit for you.
Registered guests
For the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all, only those listed on the original booking are permitted on the property. Visitors or additional guests are not allowed without prior approval. We kindly ask that you reach out if you wish to request permission for any visitors during your stay.
Smoking, vaping and candle safety
For the safety and comfort of all guests, no smoking, vaping or open flames (including candles) are allowed anywhere on the property.
Shoes off indoors
We kindly ask that you remove your shoes when spending time indoors. This helps protect our delicate wooden floors, reduces noise and keeps the space fresh for everyone.
Mindful meals
We welcome cooking and dining in the kitchen and outdoor areas. To help preserve our soft furnishings, please enjoy food and drinks away from the couches, beds and daybed.
Tread carefully
Del Sol’s elevated design includes stairs, a hammock, wonky garden paths and access to nearby bushland tracks. Please take care when moving through these areas and use them at your own risk.
Shared hot water
Hot water is shared between both levels and can take a little while to reheat in the system. To ensure a consistent supply for all guests, we kindly ask that you limit back-to-back baths, especially during peak hours. Being considerate of others will help everyone enjoy a comfortable stay.
Treasures with stories
Many of the items at Del Sol are vintage, curated or handmade. We ask that you enjoy them gently and leave everything as you found it, so future guests can experience their charm too.

If something breaks, no worries. Just let us know, or leave it somewhere visible so our housekeeper can replace it. We understand that accidents happen. Intentional damage or theft, however, will be taken seriously and reported to Airbnb and the police immediately.

To preserve the privacy and tranquility of the space, no Airbnb Experiences, Services, or third-party bookings (including MUA, masseuse etc.) are permitted on the property without prior written approval. Please reach out if you’re planning something special, we’re happy to discuss.
Extra cleaning
We appreciate your help keeping the space tidy. Extra cleaning fees will apply for excessive mess or heavily soiled linens beyond standard use.

- The Del Sol team
We have unlimited NBN internet and the network name is Del Sol Treehouse and the password is: FloraFauna38
Please use as needed. When the weather is particularly stormy and wild, the connection strength can fluctuate due to the submarine cables. If a restart of the modem is required, it can be found behind the couch on the left side in The Canopy's living room.
There is a collection of coffee table books, novels and vintage finds for you to enjoy. Please return all items to their allocated place before checking out. In the Seahorse Studio, you may need to look in the drawers.
A Bluetooth speaker is provided on each level so you can enjoy your own music. Check your device Bluetooth is turned on and search for the relevant speaker:
The Canopy - ACTON III
Seahorse Studio - EMBERTON III
Or, we recommend setting the vibe just right by using your Spotify app to play the Del Sol Treehouse playlist and get groovin'!
Both The Canopy and Seahorse Studio feature their own unique guestbooks—beautiful, vintage-inspired field journals filled with collected treasures and memories. These books are not just for writing in, but for exploring, dreaming and creating.
You are warmly invited to leave your mark in a way that feels meaningful to you. Sketch, write, press a flower, or simply share a thought—each contribution adds to the story of this special place. Let the pages inspire your creativity and become a part of Del Sol’s growing tapestry of beloved guests.
We’d also love to see your stay through your eyes! If you’ve taken photos or captured special memories, please tag us on Instagram @delsoltreehouse or share them with us. We’d be thrilled to repost your moments (with your blessing, of course!).
For guests of The Canopy, a hammock is provided for your enjoyment and is stored in the wooden box at the front entrance. To set it up, simply unfold the hammock, check that it's the right way up, and then hang the loops on the hooks provided. Relax and enjoy!
The Canopy has a fully functional kitchen containing all you could need for a home cooked meal or an intimate dinner party with friends. Basic provisions include coffee, teas, hot chocolate, sugar, biscuits, salt and pepper and oil. We provide complimentary oat and full cream long-life milk for your convenience. However, as we understand that milk preferences can vary, we kindly ask you to bring your preferred type if these options do not suit your needs.
Oven: To operate the oven, ensure all three dials are set to an ON position.
- Timer dial (left): The oven will only stay on if the timer is set. Choose the appropriate time for your food to prevent it from turning the oven off.
- Temperature dial (centre): Adjust this to your desired heat setting.
- Cooking mode dial (right): Select the appropriate cooking function.
If the oven is not heating, check that all three dials are correctly positioned.
Induction Cooktop: Check that the cooker is turned on at the wall switch. Press and hold the ON button (centre of the control panel) for 2 seconds. Select a cooking zone, add your pot or pan and slide your finger up or down the corresponding scale to set the heat. If an 'F' error appears, this is usually because there is a failed connection or anothe rmetal item on the surface (like a metal spoon). A quick wipe of both surfaces (the base of the pan and the cooktop) with a clean, dry cloth usually does the trick to remove and dust or moisture. Ensure the pot or pan is correctly positioned in the selected zone.
Rangehood: Features buttons for the light (left) and fan settings (scaling up on the right). It is Bluetooth-connected to the cooktop and may activate automatically when the cooktop is in use. You can override the automated setting by pressing the buttons.
Percolator Coffee Pot: Unscrew the base and fill the bottom chamber with water, keeping the level below the valve. Add coffee loosely to the basket until full, assemble the pot, and place it on the heat. I usually set it on level 6 and the percolating begins after 5-7 minutes. Once you can hear the espresso in the top chamber and see the steam, I turn it off. This should provide enough espresso for two serves.
Dishwasher: Once stacked, insert a detergent tablet in the basket and close the lid, press the ON button and select your desired setting (1 hr quick cycle works great!) to start the cycle. Note: The tall glasses can only fit on the right side. Please avoid dishwashing the wooden chopping boards.
In the Seahorse Studio, there is a breakfast bar for all your coffee and tea needs including a kettle and toaster. Please avoid disposing of food scraps or coffee grounds down the bathroom sink, and use the bin provided instead.
If you are staying for more than a few days, Coles, Woolworths and a range of other food and retail shops are located in Eastlands Shopping Centre, about 15 minutes walk away. A further 10 minutes walk (and my personal preference) is Salamanca Fresh, which is attached to Local Pizza. There are also a variety of restaurants, cafes and pubs along Bellerive which is 15 minutes walk away. Or, head into the city to explore some of Hobart's well known restaurants such as Bar Wah or Ogee (bookings essential).
Each level of the treehouse includes a private bathroom. For your convenience, we provide a small supply of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and face wash. If you're staying more than a few days, we recommend bringing your preferred toiletries.
A clothes steamer is also available on each level for guest use.
The bathtub is located in the Seahorse Studio on the lower level and is only accessible to guests who have booked that space or the entire property. For the ultimate unwind, we suggest a glass of wine, a generous pour of bath milk or salts, and a favourite book. Upon draining, please leave the showerhead in the bath to drain before returning it to the holder.
To ensure the steamiest experience, we recommend drawing your bath outside of peak hours and avoiding back to back baths, as the hot water system can take time to recharge after high use.
Please note: The Seahorse Studio features a combined step-in shower/bath with a handheld showerhead, which may not be suitable for guests with mobility concerns.
The steamer is stored under the bathroom vanity. Watch the how-to video here. First, fill the water tank with clean, cold water and reattach it securely. Plug the steamer into a power outlet and press the power button. Wait about 45 seconds for it to heat up. For best results, hang your garment on a hanger, hold the steamer upright, and press the steam trigger. Move the steamer up and down over the fabric, keeping it a few centimeters away. After use, turn off the steamer, unplug it and let it cool down completely. Empty any remaining water from the tank before storing it back in its bag and returning it to its place.
To ensure safe use, avoid tilting the steamer more than 45 degrees to avoid leakage and do not use it on clothes while wearing them.
There are two reverse cycle air conditioners, one on each level. They are very efficient in warming and cooling the space. In the winter months, extra blankets are provided for both beds. If you are still feeling the cold, each level has a hot water bottle supplied in the kitchen drawers.
To alter the temperature on each level, locate the remote on the wall and turn ON the unit using the yellow/orange button. You should hear a beep and the vents will open.
To choose your options, slide down the cover to reveal the function buttons. Push the MODE button until a sun (for warm air) or snowflake (for cool air) symbol appears. Then, choose the power of the FAN setting and moderate the TEMPERATURE as needed.
Please be mindful of the environment and turn off the unit when leaving the property.
If there’s anything we can do to make your stay more enjoyable, please don’t hesitate to send us a message on Airbnb. We aim to respond within an hour and have a dedicated team ready to ensure your stay is everything you imagined.
For guests staying longer than four days, we’re happy to arrange a mid-stay provision top up. Simply reach out to us on Airbnb to organise this service.
For emergencies, please call 000 immediately to contact emergency services.
Plasters and cotton balls are available in each bathroom cabinet for minor injuries. Pharmacies are located nearby in Eastlands and Bellerive for any over-the-counter needs. If you require a doctor, several medical centres can be found in Rosny Park with a quick Google.
For emergencies, please call 000 or visit the nearest hospital.
Smoke alarms are installed on both levels of Del Sol for your safety.
The Canopy - a fire extinguisher is located under the sink.
Seahorse Studio - A fire blanket is provided in the bedroom drawers.
In the event of a fire, the street is the safest area to evacuate to. Please familiarise yourself with the location of these safety items and follow standard fire safety procedures.
For emergencies, please call 000 immediately to contact emergency services.
Living alongside 6 and 8-legged critters is a part of life in Australia, and though we try ourbest, sometimes flies and ants sneak in when the windows or doors are open. Most bugs are not a threat to humans, however, if you discover one that you are particularly not fond of, bug spray and a fly swat is available in the kitchen or breakfast bar.
Check out is at 11am. The general rule is to leave the place as you found it. Please see the Airbnb app for further check out details.
When you are ready to leave, please:
Ensure all windows are closed - the weather turns very quickly in Tasmania!
Check the lights and air conditioners are off.
Leave the rubbish for our housekeeper or take it up to the street level large bins in the bin nook.
Pull the front door shut and ensure it is properly closed.
Pull the gate shut and lock it (if applicable).
Return the key to the lockbox and scramble the code.
